THE MANSON MASSACRE (7?) aka House of Bondage; The Cult; I Demoni; Tchter des Satans. Here it is boys and girls, THE movie that's at the top of every true sleazehound's want list. This sleazy, violent cash-in on the Tate / LaBianca killings was thought to have vanished from the face of the Earth. Yet here it is! And boy, is it SLEAZY! In this version of the story, Charlie suffers from almost constant flashbacks to his troubled "childhood" (he looks about 30 in these scenes) when he was continually being hit on by his hot, busty mom, played by Uschi Digard! Yep, we feel sorry for him already. Meanwhile, his all-girl wrecking crew are having flashbacks of their own about THEIR troubled childhoods. All of which, strangely enough, involve abundant nudity! Of course the constant acid dropping doesn't help matters, but soon enough our ragtag band of creepy crawlers have managed to trade in their VW van for an old hearse (complete with corpse) and are on a one way road to home invasion and Helter Skelter! MR. SYCAMORE (75) Jason Robards plays a sensitive small town mailman who writes poetry on the side. One day, his stress level reaches the boiling point and in lieu of picking up an AK-47 and wasting the ungrateful people on his mail route, he hits on a more genteel way to go postal: why doesn’t he just turn into a tree? His harried wife Sandy Dennis, bogged down with a local mayoral race is at first too busy to pay him much mind. Things change when he digs a small hole in the lawn, sticks his bare feet into the ground and waits for the expected metamorphosis. What will the neighbors think? Men in clean white coats come for him and show Robards another old duffer intent on becoming a tree at the local laughing academy. Undaunted, Robards pursues life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness in his own back yard -- at the expense of his neighbors and immediate family.
