BALD HEADED BETTY (75) aka Sei Nui, Seh Nui. Wow! This could easily be the wildest, trashiest flick I’ve seen all year. And that my friends is saying something! Gorgeous Lam Kin Ming plays a virginal bit of fluff who’s seduced by a smooth talker with a liquor bottle at a beach party. When her father finds out about her defilement she’s cast out of the family and set adrift in the big bad city. Who should she run into there but Mr Smooth Talker himself, who charms her yet again and then promptly sells her to an evil Mom and Pop prostitution ring. When she tries to escape their evil clutches she’s caught and punished by having her head shaved down to the scalp (baldie fans and sadists in general will appreciate this scene which goes on for a looong time). In due course she resigns herself to her fate and becomes the house novelty twat wearing wild get ups and multi-colored wigs. Eventually the timid barber who was forced to shave her in the first place (and who’s carried a torch - and razor - for her ever since) reappears on the scene and sets her free from her life of sin by going on a kill crazy straight razor rampage worthy of Taxi Driver. Their love is not meant to be though. He winds up going to jail and she becomes a Buddhist monk. As it turns out, she LIKES being bald, because her parents used to shave her head when she was a child?!? Sadly there’s no English dubbing or subtitles on this one but don’t let that slow you down for a second, folks. This is exactly the kind of movie Shocking Videos is all about and I urge you to give it a try! Order

FUNERAL PROCESSION OF ROSES (69) aka Bara no Soretsu. "Funeral Parade of Roses" is an underrated, unknown work of Japanese gay cinema. It was one of Stanley Kubrick's favorite films, and it had a significant influence on the the style of A Clockwork Orange. The film deals with Japanese drag queens, including the clubs, rivalry and their sex lives. In an Oedipus fashion, except reversed, the main character kills his mother so he can have relations with his father. Director Toshio Matsumato seemed to be way ahead of his time for his portrayal of sexuality and violence on screen. Also in a Bergman-like fashion, actors are interviewed so the audience realizes it's only a movie (and a twisted one at that). The film has many hallucinatory scenes, and who could forget the drag queens using urinals? There's also a weird fight scene between the two drag queens, and when they yell comic bubbles pop out of their mouths. Thank God this movie is in black & white! A hunchbacked caretaker presides over a forlorn mansion inhabited by the ghosts of his previous masters. An unbelieving trio (a doctor, his assistant, and his niece) fail to heed the caretaker's warnings and are slaughtered horribly by the jealous occupants. A beautiful, richly evocative film now available in hard to find good quality. Order

Sure it may sound like just another Bonnie and Clyde/Smokey and the Bandit retread but this tough little cookie kicks major ass and puts a lot of its Hong Kong counterparts to shame. It’s SUPER SEXY HYPER GO TIME with this outrageous adaptation of Tanioka Yasuji’s manga series concerning a tit-obsessed horny little boy and all the shit he gets into after his third failed attempt at committing suicide because his dick is too small!! Along with all the usual suspects– zany slapstick; raunchy comedy; frantic decibels; creepy-almost-pedophilia; numerous head wounds and cartoonishly violent concussions– we get a hearty plate of fried fucked-up via blow-up sex dolls for women, perverted priests, in-home brain surgery, impromptu nipple-suckling, POW camp-style discipline, baby bowling, and an omnipresent rooster-sorta-god-like-being-with five legs who lives on a roof and not only can fly, but also can cheat death!
