Hyperviolent kung fu action from the Shaw Brothers starring Wang
Chung (no, not the band, smart guy). A real find, with great
photography and some SERIOUS martial mayhem. In one scene our hero
is shot through the stomach with a harpoon, then the bad guy drags

SUPERSTAR: THE KAREN CARPENTER STORY
(87) Here it is: Todd Haynes' infamous 45-minute docudrama on
America's favorite bulemic shot almost entirely with Barbie
dolls! Made with style and vision this is a remarkably
accomplished work that is both touching and surreal. Also
included at no extra charge are some hilarious live-action "Davey
and Goliath" parodies that Haynes worked on, as well as Hayne's
OTHER weird, touching and very hard to find short film, DOTTY
GETS SPANKED which is about a young boy's unhealthy obsession
with a TV sitcom patterned after the "I Love Lucy" Show. A great
find for any Haynes/Carpenters/ weird film fan. Please note:
Don't be misled by other dealers' claims. This is far and away
the best quality you will find on this very rare title, bar
none.

TAKE AN EASY RIDE (76) British sleaze mini-epic attempts to have
its kink and eat it too as it purports to document the perils of
hitchhiking while at the same time giving the punters what they
want: violent sexual fantasies involving hitchhiking hotties in tight
little mini-skirts! Packs more creepy weirdness into its scant 40
minute running time than most like-minded flicks twice its length.
Even so, we’re rounding this one out with a couple of rare 16mm
transfers of American educational films from the same era that
continue to bludgeon you with the message that hitchhiking is BAD!

TAKING OFF (71) Here’s another one we’ve been looking for
forever. Milos Forman’s gentle satire on the Generation Gap stars
Buck Henry and Lynn Carlin as a pair of square parents who are
trying to understand why their quiet teenage daughter ran away from
home. With an impromptu pot party at a parent’s support group
meeting, the Ike and Tina Turner Revue and a very young Carly Simon
singing about getting stoned. This is the complete, UNCUT version
which includes the infamous Mary Mitchell performance of "Ode to a
Screw."

TATTOOED TEARS
(78) In 1977 filmmakers Nick Broomfield
and Joan Churchill were given an unprecedented degree of
access to the euphemistically named "Youth Training School"
(better known to the inmates as "Gladiator School") by the
Director of the California Youth Authority, who was about to
retire and, in what must have been a moment of clarity,
decided that there should be some sort of record that these
types of institutions don’t work. The film follows the
lives of four young inmates and is easily one of the bleakest,
most uncompromising documentaries about prison life ever made.

Supermen. Children in a freezer! Human mimeographs with
suicidal tendencies! All the mini-tramps and kip-ups you can
eat! Outfitted in bulletproof costumes and capes, our womanizing
Italo Trio begins as a Duo who make the headlines scream as they
steal from the rich and give to themselves. One's a former
pitcher for the Dodgers(!), who ruins your day from a distance
with a steel ball on a string, while the other's a spastic mute
who can’t keep still. They’re soon joined by ultra-beefcake Brad
Harris, an undercover FBI agent who enlists their help with
Operation: Burning Chestnut, and end up saving the world from
impending chaos by way of Golem ("Mr. Golem, your sadism is
revolting.") and his Universal Reproducer. Directed by
Gianfranco "Frank Kramer" Parolini, this fun comic book
pot-boiler/circus act spawned many sequels, and features great
stuntwork by the Italian Acrobatic Team, as well as the old Fred
Astaire/Lionel Ritchie "Dancing on the Ceiling" party trick!

THREE FOR ALL (74) Delightful British farce with sun,
songs and silliness. Diane, Shelley and Pet are the girlfriends
of a second-string rock group. The band gets to tour Spain, but
the band’s manager says the girls have to stay put. Undaunted,
the three gals head to Spain anyway and begin a long series of
hysterical misadventures! The girls can’t stay out of trouble:
they start a fracas in the street when one of them is accused of
shoplifting, start a hilarious slapstick brawl in a disco and
create havoc wherever they go. Full of glitter rock and tacky
fashions and settings, this seaside diversion also features fun
cameos from Brit standbys Roy Kinnear and Diana Dors.

UGLY GEORGE
(8?) In case you're ever on Jeopardy and the question
comes up, George Urban aka "Ugly George" is the true father of
reality gonzo porn. Throughout the '70s and '80s George would
patrol the streets of Manhattan dressed in an alarmingly tight
silver jumpsuit with a camera pack strapped to his back. His
mission: approach random women on the street and using nothing
more than the gift of glib and his own weird brand of Polish
charisma, convince them to take off their clothes for him then
and there. The fruits of his labors would then be broadcast for
free on his weekly public access television program "The Ugly
George Hour of Truth, Sex and Violence." Brilliant, eh? And what
we have here, dear students, is the most complete rundown on
Ugly George and his trip that you're likely to find anywhere
outside of the Polish Penthouse. Look at all you get: The much
sought after "Ugly George" special done for long gone Electric
Blue Video, a copy of one of UG's privately distributed tapes
(now out of print and impossible to find) called "Ugly George's
Hits and Misses" AND a rare "behind the scenes" interview with
George done for the feminist documentary Rate It X where
George lays it on the line as to how he picks his victims as
well as his (apparently aborted) plans for global conquest. Such
a deal!

unfair analysis of this gritty 'Nam vet road picture but hey, it

WHEELS OF FIRE (85) aka Desert Warrior. "If You Thought Max

heavy Playmate Lynda Wiesmeier) gets herself tied to the hood of a
