BARN OF THE NAKED DEAD (73) aka Nightmare Circus; Terror Circus. Talk about your catchy titles! Andrew Prine called this sick, sadistic sleazer "the only movie I ever regretted making." But you WON'T regret watching it as he plays "Andre," a mother-fixated nut job who kidnaps women and whips and tortures them into performing in his high desert psycho sideshow! Believe it or not, this misogynist's wet dream was directed by a young Alan Rudolph! Ha! CAGED FURY (1989)  There's a lot going on in this nonsensical Eighties relic that wants you to know it's so much more than just a tacky, sleazy women-in-prison flick. (It's actually two or three flicks cobbled together by a ramblingly loopy script.)   It's got morals.  The leading lady (Roxanna Michaels) is just trying to make it as an actress so her family in Utah can be proud of her!  And when she's snared in a casting couch set-up and railroaded into a phony correctional institute used as a holding pen for new white slaves, her spunky big sis with the acid-washed-jeans and damaged hair (Elena Sahagun) will stop at nothing to find her.  It's got stars.  I'm not talking about the cameos by porno royalty Kascha, Ron Jeremy and Janine Lindemulder-- I'm talking ERIK fucking ESTRADA.  He was so drawn to the role of Victor, the martial arts champion who keeps the streets, dive bars and porn studios of Hollywood safe for young ladies, he decided to produce the movie, too.  Well, he produced the chunk of the movie about  a well-mannered ass-kicker who falls in love with a pure-hearted free spirited novice actress after preventing her gang-rape.  This whole action subplot, complete with mulleted Vietnam vet/ultimate fighter best bro, is a really odd match for the gleefully sadistic, pervy "prison" portion, which has the all elements of late-80's bitches-behind-bars--  lezbo warden with a hot tub in her office, hunky psycho rapist male guards, big hair, comic-relief frumpy fatso female guards, and most importantly copious nudity-- but not enough time to whip them into a filthy froth cuz it takes 40 minutes of martial arts and dangers-of-sordid-Hollywood-exposed to get our heroine tossed into the big doll house.  Luckily, none of this matters.  The tortured plotting actually makes it more fun.  And just wait till you add the weed of your choice to the mix.  Special appearance by seminal SoCal punk band The Zeros as themselves.  Excellent quality from laserdisc. CAGED SEDUCTION (94) aka Against Their Will: Women in Prison. Judith Light slaps on a goofy Little Orphan Annie wig and fights for women prisoners' rights in this "so tacky it's dreamy" cable TV movie. Highlights include cafeteria brawling, Screw on Con face licking, Ms. Light belting out the Star Spangled Banner while being strapped to a gurney, and such memorable quotes as "It's all about the sex", "Respect my authoritah!" and "Pull up your pants and get back to work!" Shouldn't that last one be the other way around though? So good you'll be rattling your tin cup against the cell bars for more! Order

CELLS OF PASSION (81) Erica Boyer, Holly McCall, Misty Regan and John Leslie star in this nasty prison set grinder that features lots of fraternization between guards and prisoners, impromptu conjugal visits, contraband dildos and swinging from the bars. X-rated. Order

THE CONCRETE JUNGLE (82) Q. What do you get when you take the director of Chatterbox, the star of Happy Birthday to Me, and the trashiest genre in exploitation history then ladle in extra helpings of salty sleaze? A. My all-time favorite bitches-behind-bars flick! This criminally(!) underrated hit launched the Eighties jailbird jezebels renaissance, but none of what followed equaled the sweaty charms of this hilariously hard-bitten tale of an innocent ski bunny named Cherry (Happy Birthday's psycho-schoolgirl Tracey Bregman, soon to become soap opera royalty as Lauren Fenmore Williams Grainger Baldwin on The Young and the Restless) tricked into smuggling coke by her slimy dealer boyfriend and sent to prison where she runs afoul of sadistic guards, manically overacting cons and Warden Jill St. John ("I'm running a prison, not a finishing school!") Clearly these are some of the skaggiest skanks you could shake a toilet plunger at. At the glamorous end is fellow soap vet Barbara Luna, deliciously vile as vice-lord "Cat", whose Queen Bee status affords her the privilege of loungewear instead of a uniform. But June Barrett steals the show as "Icy" her twitchy, eye-rolling blonde henchwoman. No one seems to know what became of this actress, but it looks like she might have been guilty of smuggling a few grams herself. Like to the set, daily. As Cherry finds her friends whacked and her dignity devoured, she becomes as hard as, yes, concrete, and in a classic WIP moment, breaks all the teeth from her rat tail comb and clenches the makeshift weapon in front of a mirror, blood oozing from her fist. Director Tom DeSimone got his start in gay porno flicks before branching out to R-rated fun like Hell Night, Reform School Girls and Angel 3, so this may be a little light in the hot lezbo department for some WIP purists. But it WAY delivers on the sleaze, with lines like "You'll fuck who I tell you to fuck!" and a great scene that intercuts a sexual assault and a childbirth, with the victim's shrieks, the rapist's groans and the mother's screams all culminating in a crescendo of unparalleled tastelessness. ESCAPE FROM HELL HOLE (83) aka Hell Hole. Wild and crazy Indonesian entry in the Chicks in Chains category. Pretty peasant girl gets talked into moving to the big city and is immediately turned over to an evil white slaver. When she refuses to sacrifice her virginity to him she’s thrown into the "Hell Hole" his private prison of... well, all the other women who told him "no" we guess. Jeez, he’s not very good at this is he? Anyway, you get: a weird 18^th birthday party celebration/dance number that ends in a gory wrist slashing/stabbing, a nice assortment of whipping and catfights, gratuitous use of inmates for knife throwing practice, tongue removal, bloody broomstick self-deflowering, and the obligatory bust out shoot ‘em up finale. Marxist bull dykes bust out of the joint, hijack a busload of coeds, and take over a rich fat cat's mansion; subjecting everyone to massive doses of carpet munching and pinko rhetoric in the process. Yow! This Euro rarity boasts the subtitle "A story of sex and violence," and has a separate underwear credit, which makes it worth the investment for sheer surrealism value alone! Order

FEMALE CONVICT SCORPION: GRUDGE SONG (73) In this fourth chapter of the "Female Convict Scorpion" series, the final starring Meiko Kaji - Nami Matsushima, aka Scorpion, hides her identity after escaping prison, working as a bridal gown assistant. But the persistent Lieutenant Kodama finds her and arrests her. While she is being delivered to prison, she escapes again and flees into a strip club. There, she meets Kudo, a former student activist, who works as a stage hand. Kudo had in the past been captured by the police when he was involved in student protest and he has kept a grudge against the detective who had tortured him. The detective was Kodama, who is hunting Nami. Nami opens her heart to Kudo who shares the same experience as her, but before long, she is betrayed by him... Letterboxed with English subtitles. FEMALE PRISONER: CAGE (7?) aka Josyu: Ori. Oh yeah! You can always count on the Japanese to deliver the high grade sleaze goods and this one is no exception. Animalistic female cons spend their time masturbating, getting raped and screwing each other. After one cellblock sweetie receives an unexpected conjugal visit the other girls gather around and hungrily admire the cum oozing out of her twat before passing the stuff around. Driven wild by the scent of Man Juice the sex starved she-cats then rush into the yard and take on a group of sweaty hard hats conveniently at work just the other side of the cyclone fence. After witnessing her mother's strangulation by a vicious, leather-clad slimeball (Ray Sharkey), poodle-haired aerobiciser Judy Landers suffers total amnesia and is committed to the Ashland Sanitarium For Women, where necrophile lesbian psychiatrist Mary Woronov conducts secret chemical lobotomy experiments with the help of whiny co-shrink Marjoe Gortner. Just when you think the cast can't get any sweeter, here comes Edy Williams as Ray's nympho bisexual plaything, Cruising's Richard Cox as a heroic undercover whistle-blower, and cameos by Carole Ita White and Dyanne Thorne! Which is perfect because this is basically an ILSA movie with bigger hair and leg-warmers! Somehow, the producers decided it wasn't trashy enough and called in Tom DeSimone, the director of Chatterbox and The Concrete Jungle, to shoot additional scenes, all of which involve Edy's tits. Watch the mud-bath threesome and tell us Edy isn't playing herself! Mary and Ray deliver amazing dueling-psycho performances which help make this an unsung WIP classic. HOTEL PARADISE (79) aka Blood for Liberty; Savage Island; Orinoco Prison of Sex; Orinoco Sexual Paradise; Hotel Paradiso; Orinoco Prigioiere del Sesso. This sweaty jungle prison camp for women epic starring Ajita Wilson and Cristina Lai comes with a convoluted history: It was made back to back with, using the same cast, crew, director and locations as and is often mistaken for Escape From Hell. Most versions of it around the world are cut to one degree or another and the almost unrecognizable one released here in the U.S. (which was stitched together with scenes from Femmine Infernali and retitled as Savage Island) even has really stupid footage of Linda Blair toting a machine gun and trying to act all bad spliced in. But what we have here dear friends is the nearly impossible to find completely UNCUT ORIGINAL version that not only DOESN’T have any stupid Linda Blair footage, it DOES have all of the hardcore XXX sex scenes that were trimmed from other versions AND as an added bonus for you fetishists, an extremely brutal scene of two topless tramps tied face to face and whipped to within an inch of their lives. HOUSE OF WHIPCORD (74) A Puritanical retired judge (Patrick Barr) and a dangerously unhinged ex-prison matron (Barbara Markham) run their own secret women's prison to punish cheeky young birds guilty of shoplifting, indecent exposure and trash-movie distribution (OK, we made up that last one). The couple's shag-haircutted Mod son "Mark E. Dessart" (Robert Tayman, the pervy Count from Vampire Circus) tracks down the gals in sinful, swingin' London and brings them to Mumsy and Pop's isolated manor, where they're stripped, checked for vermin, hustled through kangaroo court and subjected to rats, bare-ass floggings, forced Bible study and, three infractions later, the hangman's noose! This surprisingly grim and effective Gothic roughie is one of Pete Walker's best. Dishy Penny Irving plays the dim-witted teen model with perky tits and a hilarious French accent and Walker reg Sheila Keith is creepy perfection as a sadistic butch guard. Considering star Dyanne Thorne's penchant for plastic surgery, It's really not much a stretch. And who wanted to see Ilsa: The Truman Years anyway? ILSA THE WICKED WARDEN (77)  aka Greta -- Haus Ohne Manner, Greta the Torturer, Greta The Sadist, Ilsa: Absolute Power, Greta the Mad Butcher, Wanda the Wicked Warden.  They needed another movie about Ilsa, everyone's favorite huge-breasted sadist, and luckily Jess Franco happened to have this women-in-prison romp handy starring Dyanne Thorne as head shrink at a banana republic ladies' asylum where panties are forbidden, muffs are like afros and troublesome patients simply disappear.  It's easy to imagine Ilsa faked her own death at the end of SHE-WOLF OF THE SS and joined the South American Nazi expat community, working as a nanny specializing in disciplinary enemas as she pursued a doctorate in clinical psychology, leading to her position as directress of Las Palomas, a secluded mental health facility specializing in "female problems" like nymphomania and lesbianism.  Did we mention it's a Jess Franco film?  The plot has something to do with a woman (Tania Busselier) going undercover to search for her missing sister, but you'll be laughing too hard at the klunky, lurid English dubbing to care.   Thorne keeps one of the patients (dirty little Franco muse Lina Romay) as her own personal sex slave, but keeps her schedule flexible enough to bang El Presidente ("You fantastic bitch!" he groans).  She also also does tons of nudity, runs a hidden-camera porno ring, and somehow manages to chew the scenery with her eyeballs.  Seriously, she's like Gloria Swanson with enormous bare tits.  And speaking of tits, Lina does a lot more than flash hers-- after a bout of diarrhea, she uses Tania's tongue for toilet paper.  You ain't gonna see that in Born Innocent.   The ferocious ending is the best and beastliest of all the ILSA's!   Excellent quality UNCUT Letterboxed print includes trailer. Once the team reaches the jungle they are savagely attacked by a violent group of men who hold the nurses for ransom. The poor dears are made to endure every kind of cruel torture imaginable and are forced to submit to their captors’ perverted desires in return for favors and possible escape. Unfortunately the kidnappers have no intention of ever allowing the girls to go free so, with the aid of a tough old ship's captain, they make with the big bust out and the evil bastards are brutally beaten. PETS (73) aka Submission. Another rare find. Candice Rialson's first film is a thoroughly enjoyable piece of trash concerning the misadventures of a lusty young runaway who runs into, and away from, a variety of creeps including Teri Guzman, Joan Blackman, and, best of all, Ed Bishop as a sicko art collector who likes to keep women in cages. Scenes of Ms. Rialson on a leash and shaking her bountiful jugs in the face of a guy staked to the ground are certain boner inducers. Includes trailer. Order

POOR CECILY (73) Extremely rare grindhouse variation on De Sade’s Justine now available again by popular demand! This is the extremely hard to find complete and  UNCUT version in very good quality. PRISON FOR WOMEN (74) aka Woman’s Prison; Riot in a Women’s Prison; Revolt in a Women’s Prison; Prigione di Donne. Naive French flooze is unjustly (of course) incarcerated in the title locale and helps fight for inmate rights by encouraging the other cons to trash the joint. Nothing too groundbreaking here, but the women are sexy in a medium security sort of way and it does boast an extremely impressive shower sequence. In 1963 director Brunello Rondi was one of the screen writers on Fellini’s 81/2 (and La Dolce Vita before that). Some ten years later he made this. Glad to see he didn’t let success go to his head. Seriously, this may well be the Waterworld of Women In Prison movies as these gals spend more time soaping up their prodigious melons than in any other flick we've seen. Along with the usual goodies this one’s got a standout scene involving a diabolically intricate torture where women have their hands tied behind their backs and then are forced to crawl topless across long wooden planks over a pit of broken china while clenching candelabras between their teeth. All while guards whip them mercilessly from each side and swings with more candles attached pass overhead dripping hot wax down on them! We know we’ve asked this before, but who thinks this shit up?! As promised in the title this one picks up right where the last one left off. The prison has gotten a few improvements though. Like the row of red lit pussy washing fountains that the girls have to straddle naked and waddle across in order to clean out their privates. Other tender moments include a naked bathtub catfight where the loser gets a mouthful of piss, dildo gang rape, a good girl con getting her clothes ripped off and having a plant shoved up her twat, an even more gruesome forced miscarriage than in the last picture and a full scale riot to top things off. WOMEN IN CAGES (71) Pam Grier whips ass literally as Alabama, the sadistic lesbian matron of a Pacific Island female correctional institute in this second installment of Roger Corman's New World Pictures' Filipino-shot women-in-prison cycle. "I crawled out of a hell called Harlem!" Pam barks when her girls have the nerve to ask how she got so mean. Raped at ten, a streetwallker at 12, then a lifetime of American racism has turned her into a kinky S&M top who drags any attractive dish down to The Playpen, a sex dungeon equipped with floggers, a torture wheel, and electro-shock "therapy" for nude punishments and sapphic sex-a-thons. Lanky Lisa Kudrowish Jennifer Gan stars as Jeff, the naive plaything of a Filipino vice lord who runs a floating whorehouse in the bay. Jeff takes the rap for a brick of his heroin thinking he'll get her out. Actually, he's trying to have her whacked for knowing too much by her junkie cellmate (a great, gutsy performance by Roberta Collins of Big Doll House and Caged Heat). Jeff makes friends with husband-killer Judy Brown, another spunky Corman starlet, but no one likes Teresa (Sofia Moran), Alabama's favorite lezzie love-doll. Will they work out their differences and make an escape, taking their nemesis Alabama with them? The prison discourages break-outs by employing a gang of bounty- and-booty hunting bandidos who get fifty bucks a head to return escapees, whether they're dead, alive or gang-raped! WOMEN PRISONERS OF DEVIL’S ISLAND (61) aka Le Prigioniere Dell’Isola del Diavolo. Neat little Italo exploitation (ghostwritten by Ernesto Gastaldi!) about the dregs of Paris being shipped off to the infamous penal colony where they are treated rather poorly. Too early in the game for muff diving and shower scenes, but you do get lots of of bodacious babes in bulging bodices and Guy Madison as a pirate. Plus the color on this is just gorgeous.
